MSNBC: U.S. Adds 209K Jobs in July Compared to Expected 180K

‘A very strong read on the jobs market in this country’

EXCERPT:

EISEN: “Good morning. A very strong read on the jobs market in this country. 209,000 jobs added during the month of July, Mika, and that was a lot better than the 180,000 jobs that economists were looking for. As far as the unemployment rate, it did tick lower which is what we want to see, 4.3 percent is the nation’s unemployment rate. That matches the lowest level in about 16 years. As for wages, we’ve all been waiting to see wages rise. They are rising slightly, 0.3 percent. That is exactly what economists were expecting in terms of how much earnings would rise."
