Bolton: In Some Respects Obama’s New Sanctions on Russia Worse than No Sanctions at All (Washington Free Beacon)

Former United Nations ambassador John Bolton, remarking on Obama’s recent announcement of new sanctions on Russia, said, “In some respects these minimal sanctions are worse than no sanctions at all, because it reinforces Putin’s view he can do what he wants in Ukraine.”

Bolton argued that there is no evidence these sanctions will slow Putin down.

The United States recently revealed that Russia has violated a nuclear missile treaty. Bolton claimed that there is yet another violation that the Obama administration has not admitted knowledge of, as it would be “even more embarrassing to them.”

But even with the release of news of the violation, Bolton declared, “There is no indication that President Obama understands the gravity of this violation, or for what it means for the larger issue of U.S./Russia relations or Russia’s broader efforts to advance its interests around the world.”
