Fox News: Israel Removes Metal Detectors from Entrances to the Old City

‘The concern is that more violence could break out’

EXCERPT:

HUDDY: "We've seen daily protests and riots since the gates, the entrances to the Old City were shut down. Metal detectors and security measures installed after the July 14th attack in the Temple Mount compound in which two police officers were killed. So there always is that potential, but the Israeli police are taking extra steps to try to basically quell the violence. In particular you mentioned the security or the entrances to the old city. Four of eight that were shut down have been reopened, basically the four main entrances. So that again will help quell the people that are trying to get or any potential violence. Also, Israeli police, as we know, overnight Wednesday and Thursday removed the metal detectors and added security cameras that have really been a main issue for Palestinian Muslim leaders and that were installed after that deadly attack July 14th."
