Stirewalt: ‘Skinny’ Bill Is a ‘Joke’; It’s ‘Nothing, ‘This Is Like a Bad Date that Won’t End’

‘The skinny repeal is not a repeal, it’s nothing’

EXCERPT:

STIREWALT: "They’re trying to find a way to get to keeping it alive. It is not even really yes. The skinny repeal is not — it's not a repeal, it’s nothing. It is essentially an empty vessel that allows them, as Senator Manchin was talking about, that allows Republicans to keep moving the process forward. This is like a bad date that won’t end and the Republicans don’t want this legislation, the country doesn’t want it, but they’re afraid that if they stop, when they get to the end, that they will not be able to patch the hole in ObamaCare for next year without the help of Democrats and then they are going to be — they will have to give up much more and it will be much more embarrassing. But let’s be clear, policy is out the window at this point."
