Juan Williams Clashes with Watters, Guilfoyle over Sessions: ‘He’s Not Trump’s Personal Lawyer!’ (Mediaite)

On The Five, Juan Williams butted heads with his co-hosts over the ongoing feud between President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Jesse Watters called Sessions’ recusal from the Russia investigation a “weak move.”

Williams pushed back by saying it “wouldn’t be right” for Sessions not to since he didn’t disclose his contacts with Russians during the campaign.

“So what?” Watters shot back. “It’s not illegal to have contact with Russians.”

Williams pointed out that Rudy Giuliani and other senators have said that Sessions did the right thing.

“This is not about the president’s feelings by the way,” he elaborated. “He wants somebody who will fire Robert Mueller.”

Kimberly Guilfoyle weighed in, saying that this was about Trump wanting someone to “fully investigate” the unmasking that took place during the Obama administration.

“This is a diversion!” Williams reacted. “It’s a political ploy.”

Guilfoyle then on Trump’s behalf compared President Obama‘s Attorney Generals Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch to his own, saying that they’ve been “an arm” to the president.

Watters dropped a Game of Thrones reference, saying that Trump wanted someone who will “guard the wall.”

“This is not his personal lawyer!” Williams shouted.
