Steve Schmidt: Spicer Faced ‘Deliberate Cruelty’ from Trump During His Term

‘Unless your head is filled with rocks, when you look at this White House, Sean Spicer is not the problem’

EXCERPT:

SCHMIDT: "You know, Sean Spicer is not the reason, that Republicans will face danger in the midterm elections with regard to their House majority. And I think people look at Sean Spicer, and they say, this is someone who built up a reputation in Washington for integrity over a long career, aomeone who is a naval reserve officer, and people just watched it smash within six months and a day of going to work for Donald Trump. And so, when the administration goes out and tries to recruit people for these types of jobs, it’s going to have to look very, very hard for anybody willing to say yes to it, when you look at humiliations that Spicer faced, whether it was the snub, his ability to meet the pope in -- in the Vatican, kind of the deliberate cruelty he faced from the president during his term. You know, if you look at Sean Spicer, you see all of the qualities that, you know, people are so concerned about in the president with regard to what he made Sean Spicer go out there and try to communicate and with regard to the things he did from a cruelty perspective to Spicer."
