WENSTRUP: "Well, what our bill does is it would allow Charlie to become a legal permanent resident and come to the United States for a potential cure for his -- for his disease. And I think that that’s something that we as Americans often do. We try to come to the aid of those in need. And this is a young child who was in his mother’s womb and what parent would not try to fight his life as he is now out here and alive and given every opportunity; not only just a child and the parent’s rights but any patient’s right to try to seek treatment which is being denied him. Granted, this may or may not help Charlie, but wouldn’t you want to take every opportunity to try and save his life?"
