RUSH EXCERPT:
REPORTER: "New Jersey's budget standoff just ended and the day's long shutdown is lifted. Governor Chris Christie just signed a $34.7 billion budget into law, this after the state Senate and legislature came to an agreement sending a budget to him without any major line item vetoes. The resolution caps off days of suspended services across the state including shuttering state beaches and parks over the extended holiday weekend. The move made difficult for governor Christie after pictures emerged of him and his family at a state beach unavailable to residents due to the shutdown. Christie, known for his brash persona is defending his decision while brushing off the controversy."
