Tim Ryan: If You’re Wondering Who’s Trying to Get You Health Care, It’s the Dems

RYAN: "Well, I don't think they can get it together by the end of the week, because they really haven’t reached out to Democrats up to this point. I know they didn’t at all in the House of Representatives. Sounds like they haven’t done much work in the Senate either. So I think that will be tough. But we’re sitting here ready, willing and able. The -- the problem is we've got two different philosophies. When we pass the Affordable Care Act, we were actually trying to get more people onto health care. We were trying to lower premiums, get everybody in the tent, protect people from some of the draconian measures of the insurance industry. And when you look at the Republican bills, both in the House and the Senate, they are throwing people off of health care. You’re going to see increased out of pocket expenses. You're going to see older people paying more. So we've -- we've to come to grips with the two different philosophies right now. And if you’re sitting at home and you’re wondering who is actively trying to get you health care, you know it’s the Democrats."
