Franken: Obama Didn’t Want to Play into Trump’s ‘Rigged’ Narrative with Strong Russia Response

‘It’s very true, that Trump was saying the election is rigged and they didn’t want to play into that narrative’

EXCERPT:

FRANKEN: "Yes, I think they should have announced earlier that this was going on. This is with the benefit of hindsight, of course. It’s very true that Trump was saying this election is rigged and they didn’t want to play into that narrative, and I think that informed their decision, unfortunately. But it’s kind of interesting to me that Trump is saying that he's found out for the first time that Russia did this. And I think it’s really startling to hear from Attorney General Sessions that he has not had a conversation about Russia hacking. He’s the top official at the Justice Department not talking to the President about what we need to do to prevent this from happening again. And Sean Spicer says he’s never talked to him and the President himself continuing to pretend that all the intelligence agencies haven't been saying this. I find that shocking and suspicious."
