Rick Scott on Health Care: We Don’t Need the Gov’t Telling Us How To Do It

‘The most important thing to do is give people a job so that they can afford their own health care’

EXCERPT:

SCOTT: "The thing that I care about are 20 million people who live in my state, so you should give me complete autonomy. By the way, our taxpayers will pay for this. We send the money to Washington, D.C., and then it comes back with strings attached. So they should give us flexibility. I want to make sure people get health care. Whether you are on our Medicaid plan our you have a private insurance plan or our employer plan, whatever it is, I want you to have health care. But we can figure out the rules for our state, we don’t need the federal government telling us how to do it. We can do it less better access, better quality."
