‘Whole Foods stores are going to continue to operate under the same name as a separate unit’

VELSHI: "I get up this morning, Amazon is buying Whole Foods. And I saw the best tweet, I don’t know if you saw it, where some guy said, ‘Amazon is buying Whole Foods for $13.7 billion, which is about as much it costs me to buy a Luna bar and water there.’”
RUHLE: “That’s what’s extraordinary. Amazons says Whole Foods stores are going to continue to operate under the same name as a separate unit. We know Jeff Bezos and Amazon certainly have the money to buy an organization like Whole Foods.”
VELSHI: “Sure.”
RUHLE: “The companies have such different ethos, though. Think about why you shop on Amazon — it’s fast, it’s cheap. Whole Foods are rather —“
VELSHI: “Expensive. It’s more of a lifestyle.”
