LEMON: "First, the hospital treating congressman Steve Scalise has released a new statement. He suffered a single rifle shot to the left hip. The bullet traveled fracturing bones, injuring his internal organs and causing severe bleeding. He was transported in shock to Medstar Washington hospital center, a level one trauma center where he had surgery. He remains in critical condition. He'll require additional operations. I want to bring in now Dr. Sanjay Gupta, our chief medical correspondent on CNN. This medstar Washington hospital center just released an update on his condition and it reads, the congressman sustained a single rifle shot to the right hip, traveled across his pelvis fracturing bones, injuring internal organs and causing severe bleeding. He was transferred to medstar Washington hospital center a level one trauma center. He's received multiple units of blood transfusion and his condition is critical and will require additional operations. We will provide periodic updates. It sounds very serious.
