Valerie Jarrett’s power continues grow in the Obama White House.

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett sent Gov. Rick Perry (R., Tex.) a letter Monday requesting a meeting with him during President Obama’s trip this week to Texas.

This led ABC’s Jon Karl to question White House press secretary Josh Earnest on why the letter came from Jarrett and not from the president during Tuesday’s press briefing.

“By the way, why was this letter, this invitation coming from Valerie Jarrett?” Karl asked Earnest.
