Sleeping Yankees Fan Sues ESPN, Claims Announcers Disparaged Him (Mediate)

New York Yankees fan Andrew Rector has filed suit against ESPN for allegedly focusing a camera on him when he was sleeping and announcers then supposedly mocking him as he napped. In the lawsuit, obtained by The Smoking Gun, Rector’s attorney says, “In the course of watching the game plaintiff napped and this opened unending verbal crusade against the napping plaintiff.”

In fact, the attorney also, somewhat oddly, references the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry as “always the biggest in all of sport,” and so of course his client was at this incredibly thrilling and exciting game, where he got tired and took a nap.
