Hillary Clinton is upping the rhetorical ante against her former foe, suggesting that then-candidate Donald Trump orchestrated Russia's involvement in the 2016 election.

The bold claim came during her appearance at the 2017 Code Conference in California. 

Here's an excerpt: 

CLINTON: "Russians, in my opinion, and based on Intel and counter Intel and people I talked to, could not have known how to best weaponize that information unless they had been guided. Here is what I --"
HOST: "By Americans?"
CLINTON: "Guided by Americans. And guided by people who had polling and data information. We are getting more information about all of the contacts between Trump campaign officials and Trump associates with Russians before, during and after the election. So I hope we will get enough information to answer that question."
HOST: "You're meaning Trump?"
CLINTON: "Yes. Yes. I'm meaning Trump. I think is pretty hard not to."
