EMANUEL: "Approach it’s one election. Over the last eight years, you’re not going to solve it in 2018. Republicans do what they did with just one election cycle and mind set. You have to have a long horizon. Obviously and work towards that electing people at the local level. State houses into Congress. Now, your question is only because you’re nationally is B obl about Congress. But the question is, what are we doing about state houses? To recruit to run for other types of offices? My point was and I stand by it is if you think this is going to happen in an entirely just one cycle, you’re going turn around years of eroding democratic fort at the local level, you’re not having the right perspective. I think we’re going to have a good year in 2018, yes, but I think everything is going to be solved in a single cycle, it’s not how we got here and how we get out."
