Capehart: If Gianforte Wins, Paul Ryan Should Give Him a ‘Terrible Office’

‘He can give him a terrible office, don’t give him the committee assignments that he really wants’

EXCERPT:

CAPEHART: "There should be a respect among the press and the people the press covers, meaning the President, the government, anyone who wants the public trust to serve in the House or the Senate. And when you have someone running for the House who puts his hands on a reporter, and we heard with our very own ears, physically assault that reporter, there needs to be consequences. Not just legal consequences, but if he indeed does win this special election tonight, then I think it is incumbent upon House Speaker Paul Ryan to show that that kind of behavior is unacceptable. There's nothing he can do in terms of kicking him out of Congress, but he could give him a terrible office, don’t give him the committee assignments that he really wants. People on the Hill, people in America, and certainly those people who support this kind of thing need to understand that this is unacceptable.”
