Sen. Ben Cardin on Trump Budget: ‘It’s Dead on Arrival’

CARDIN: "It's true that it's dead on arrival. But to me, it's extremely disturbing to see the president of the United States say this is his priorities, his priorities which to hurt our economy, hurt vulnerable people. We make it difficult for us to defend our national security interests by the way, he cuts our diplomacy budgets and development budgets. To see what he's done in health care and the Medicaid system affecting our seniors and veterans. This is a budget that has not sense of reality but it does not reflect the values that has made America the great nation that it is. It's also on rosy predictions that are unlikely to come true causing major increase in the deficits of America. So, this is -- yes, the budget will be dead on arrival, but it also reflects I think the priorities of this administration which is very problematic."
