SHAFFER: "My experience is — I’ve been within proximity of IEDs going off in Afghanistan and that's kind of what they sound like. It’s a very sharp concussion and then nothing. So I think, from what I’ve seen of the injuries, this thing could’ve been done in enclosed space where you wouldn’t see a lot of debris or smoke. It could’ve been very well done without a lot of observation of it. But that was a very loud explosion, it sounds like other things I’ve heard in combat."
