Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called for systemic change to how political campaigns in America are financed just a day after she tweeted support for a ‘dark money’ group.

“Money is already causing a deep rot in Washington, and that is why it is time for systemic change,” Warren said during the Center for American Progress 2017 Ideas Conference on Tuesday.

“We can start that change with the way that political campaigns are financed, and we can build on the foundation of many American cities and states that have established publicly funded elections – get the money out,” Warren said.
