Democrats will reclaim the House of Representatives in 2018 and reinstall Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as speaker of the House.

So predicts MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski.

“I spy with my little eye Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House," Brzezinski forecast Monday. "That’s coming up in 2018.”

Her comments came during a segment on the MSNBC show she jointly hosts with her fiancé, Joe Scarborough.

The president of the Council of Foreign Relations, Richard Haas, said Republicans could enter 2018 without any significant victories.

"You could be going into 2018 elections without a solid record of accomplishment," Haas said. "And this becomes the lead story coming out of this administration," thus prompting Brzezinki's hopeful prediction.

Scarborough is likewise certain Trump's presidency is effectively over.

"I'm not being hyperbolic when I say it, if there are articles of impeachment of drawn up, the first article of impeachment drawn up against Donald Trump will be the first article of impeachment drawn against Richard Nixon and that is obstruction of justice," Scarborough said, while inaccurately claiming that Trump "admitted" he fired the director of the FBI, James Comey, to end the Russia investigation. "Because I could find you 1,000 Republican criminal defense lawyers across America who could say what Donald Trump has already admitted on national television rises to the level of obstruction of justice."
