Krauthammer: No Way to Fix Insurance ‘Without Turning It Essentially into a Gov’t Program’

‘The point is the way it’s structured right now, the young are not going to purchase it because it makes no sense’

EXCERPT:

KRAUTHAMMER: "But the point is, the way it’s structured right now, the young are not going to purchase this stuff because it makes no sense. The only way you’re going to deal with it is to have it subsidized by the taxpayer. And that will be huge subsidies coming from the government. In the absence of that, these individual markets are in a death spiral from which they will not recover. That is the irony of where we are. If Democrats had won the White House, they would be stuck with this in a completely irreparable situation. But now that the Republicans are in charge people say, 'Well, you’ve got to fix it.' There’s no way to fix it without turning it essentially into a government program.”
