Chuck Grassley: If Unmasking Was Done for Political Purposes, Then It’s ‘Absolutely Wrong’

‘Susan Rice may be the answer to this if she appears before our committee’

EXCERPT:

GRASSLEY: "But it’s something that Senator Graham and I are going to pursue. And I assume Senator Whitehouse as ranking Democrat of the subcommittee would want to pursue it. Because when those things happen, then we need to know a violation of law. And we want to make sure that Americans are protected with their constitutional right of privacy and we want to make sure that when there is an unmasking, that it’s for a legitimate purpose. Most importantly, not for political purposes. But you can understand, and Susan Rice may be the answer to this if she appears before our committee, that the purpose of the unmasking and what she knew about it, because if it was used for political purposes, that’s absolutely wrong."
