Gary Cohn: We Are Going to Tax the Wealthy to Give the Poor and Middle-Class a Real Tax Break

COHN: "We’re also expanding the base. When you expand the base, we are taxing a bigger base. We are doing that by getting rid of some of the things we’ve subtracted from our income in the past on the personal side. We are taking away some of the deductions that the wealthy Americans have had. So we’re not allowing them to deduct many things from their incomplete yes, they will pay tax on more income, at a slightly lower rate, but they will pay a lot of taxes still. We are going to be taxing wealthy Americans to make sure we give the poor people and middle-class people a real tax break."
