Harry Reid: Democrats Don’t Have Many Billionaires

‘One side’s billionaires are pitted against the other side’s billionaires. Except one side doesn’t have many billionaires’

Harry Reid: Our Side Doesn’t Have Many Billionaires (Washington Free Beacon)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) falsely stated that the Democratic side “doesn’t have any billionaires” Thursday during yet another rant against the philanthropist Koch Brothers.

While clamoring for campaign finance reform in the form of approving Sen. Tom Udall’s (D., Colo.) amendment that would allow Congress to regulate the spending and raising of campaign money, Reid tried to go the populist route by making it seem as though there are no left-wing billionaires influencing the process.

“The decisions by the Supreme Court have left the American people with the status quo in which one side’s billionaires are pitted against the other side’s billionaires,” he said. “Except one side doesn’t have any billionaires. We must undo the damage done by the Supreme Court’s recent campaign finance decisions, and we need to do it now.”
