Richardson: Getting UN Security Council to the W.H. Is a ‘Big Coup’ for Nikki Haley

‘What the president needs to do, I think, is convince two countries Russia and China of a potential sanction against North Korea should North Korea test another missile’

EXCERPT:

RUHLE: "Ambassador, you’re the perfect person to weigh in on this. What does the President need to say to members of the council, particularly Russia and China to get them on board to some kind of unilateral policy toward North Korea?"
RICHARDSON: "First of all, this is a big coup for Ambassador Nikki Haley, getting the Security Council. 15 members and 5 permanent members, in to see the President shows that she has access, she has political juice. What the President needs to do, I think, is convince two countries, Russia and China, of a potential sanction against North Korea should North Korea test another missile or detonate another nuclear weapon, which they probably will tomorrow when they observe the Korean People's Army ceremonies, which is the biggest entity in North Korea. And I think what the President needs to do is convince Russia and China not to veto a strong resolution perhaps that puts banking sanctions, targets the leadership in North Korea. China is the key."
