Dave Brat on ObamaCare: Americans Have a ‘Glitzy’ Policy But No Health Care

‘ObamaCare is in the death spiral’

EXCERPT:

BRAT: "It's not about cutting people off of roles. It's about making a product that's affordable so people can get insurance again. Right now, everyone may have ObamaCare. There is an $11,000 deductible on the bronze plan. The average American, according to every economic study, they have $400 in the bank in savings. So how does the average American with $400 pay for an $11,000 deductible? They don’t. So they don't have health care. They have this glitzy policy you're talking about, but they don't have any health care. We've ruined the health care market. We've ruined the banking market with the financial crisis by telling bankers, 'Hey, you can’t do banking anymore.' Throw all the risk on Fannie and Freddie, we had a financial crisis. Now we're telling insurance companies, 'Hey, you can’t do insurance.' Guess how that will work out? We’re in the ditch right now. We have to fix that."
