Blumenthal: Trump’s Travel Order Is ‘Unconstitutional; It Imposed a Religious Preference’

‘The effect of the ban is on Muslim majority nations and initially imposed a preference in favor of one religion against another’

EXCERPT:

CAMEROTA: "The Attorney General was being flip on the radio show, I assume. He says he knows that Hawaii is a state and, in fact, this is the official statement from the Justice Department. Let me read it for you. 'Hawaii is in fact an island in the Pacific, a beautiful one, where the Attorney General’s granddaughter was born. The point, however, is that there is a problem when a flawed opinion by a single judge can block the President’s lawful exercise of authority to keep the entire country safe.' That’s their real beef, is that they think these judges are being activists."
BLUMENTHAL: "And they’re wrong because the order is in fact unconstitutional. It imposes a religious preference. Donald Trump promised a Muslim ban."
