Burgess: When I Was at Fox News, O’Reilly Grunted Around Me, Called Me ‘Hot Chocolate’

‘It was embarrassing’

EXCERPT:

GOLDBERG: “What happened from there? Give it to us concisely because we want to get everything in. So what happened?”
BURGESS: “I was working at Fox temporarily, and I was working with a colleague of Mr. O’Reilly’s and when I worked there, you know, everything was fine. Within like the first week and a half of me working there, he walked — he always walked past my desk, and he made, like, a grunting noise. Which, you know —“
GLODBERG: “Oh, like that?”
BURGESS “Yes. And when he made the noise, I just, you know, I thought maybe he had a muscle spasm.”
BEHAR: “Acid reflux.”
BURGESS: “Yeah. (Laughter) But as time went on, I noticed every time he walked past my desk, if no one was around, he would make that noise. And I was, like, OK. He wasn’t speaking to me. It wasn’t like he was saying hi. Everyone else said hi to me, where I sat. So, you know, I just took it as, you know, it was — it was embarrassing.”
