PERSON: Dorian Warren

Dorian T. Warren is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Warren specializes in the study of inequality and American politics. His research and teaching interests include labor organizing & politics, race and ethnic politics, urban politics and policy, American political development, community organizing, public policy, and social science methodology. <br> <br> At Columbia, Warren is also a Faculty Affiliate at the Institute for Research in African-American Studies, Faculty Fellow at the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy, and coordinates the Center for Urban Research & Policy Seminar Series.<br> <br> A native Chicagoan, Warren received his B.A. from the University of Illinois and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University. He has been a Post-Doctoral Scholar and Visiting Faculty at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, and has received research fellowships from the Ford Foundation, CUNY, the University of Notre Dame and the Russell Sage Foundation. <br> <br> He has also worked with several national and local organizations including the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, American Rights at Work, AFL-CIO, UNITE-HERE, SEIU, UFCW, Steelworkers, NGLTF Policy Institute, and Jobs with Justice.
