Dr. Scott Atlas: ‘80-85%’ of Texas Hospital Patients ‘Have Nothing To Do with COVID-19’

░░░░░░░░ Doctor always good to ░░░░░░░░ you I m curious ░░░░░░░░ you come out and ░░░░░░░░ say that there s ░░░░░░░░ reason to panic what ░░░░░░░░ the premise for that ░░░░░░░░ ATLAS First of all ░░░░░░░░ s no reason for ░░░░░░░░ by any public official ░░░░░░░░ they re disqualifying themselves ░░░░░░░░ their position But the ░░░░░░░░ is what I want ░░░░░░░░ talk about And when ░░░░░░░░ see this focus on ░░░░░░░░ cases it doesn t ░░░░░░░░ matter how many cases ░░░░░░░░ only matters who gets ░░░░░░░░ cases Because we know ░░░░░░░░ the infection fatality rate ░░░░░░░░ people under 70 is ░░░░░░░░ 04 on the latest ░░░░░░░░ That s less than ░░░░░░░░ rate of a seasonal ░░░░░░░░ The cases themselves should ░░░░░░░░ be and were never ░░░░░░░░ focus It s only ░░░░░░░░ tragic consequences of the ░░░░░░░░ So when we look ░░░░░░░░ these new cases in ░░░░░░░░ state the overwhelming majority ░░░░░░░░ younger and healthier people ░░░░░░░░ think in Florida the ░░░░░░░░ age is 36 in ░░░░░░░░ it s something similar ░░░░░░░░ maybe 40 That s ░░░░░░░░ what we re thinking ░░░░░░░░ here is that it ░░░░░░░░ matters if we cannot ░░░░░░░░ the high risk people ░░░░░░░░ we protecting How do ░░░░░░░░ know because the death ░░░░░░░░ are not going up ░░░░░░░░ realize we have to ░░░░░░░░ to have the story ░░░░░░░░ out here but right ░░░░░░░░ the cases have been ░░░░░░░░ up for three weeks ░░░░░░░░ have no increase in ░░░░░░░░ we have a decrease ░░░░░░░░ death rates So you ░░░░░░░░ it doesn t matter ░░░░░░░░ you get the illness ░░░░░░░░ you re going to ░░░░░░░░ recover and be fine ░░░░░░░░ it That s what ░░░░░░░░ must understand For younger ░░░░░░░░ people there s not ░░░░░░░░ high risk from this ░░░░░░░░ at all GALLAGHER And ░░░░░░░░ s interesting to me ░░░░░░░░ you talk about the so these ░░░░░░░░ rates are only lagging ░░░░░░░░ a few days I ░░░░░░░░ curious when you say ░░░░░░░░ the more cases that ░░░░░░░░ re getting younger people ░░░░░░░░ s a good thing ░░░░░░░░ the CDC comes out ░░░░░░░░ says that ten times ░░░░░░░░ number of people who ░░░░░░░░ been confirmed to have ░░░░░░░░ 19 that s probably ░░░░░░░░ amount that had it ░░░░░░░░ applaud those numbers like ░░░░░░░░ s a great thing ░░░░░░░░ that lowers the mortality ░░░░░░░░ But if we talk ░░░░░░░░ new cases everybody tends ░░░░░░░░ panic a little bit ░░░░░░░░ That s true And ░░░░░░░░ think there s something ░░░░░░░░ that goes unspoken That ░░░░░░░░ that when you have ░░░░░░░░ lot of low risk ░░░░░░░░ get the infection that ░░░░░░░░ how you generate population ░░░░░░░░ This is the so ░░░░░░░░ herd immunity People have ░░░░░░░░ really mistaken about the ░░░░░░░░ of people by the ░░░░░░░░ that have had immunity ░░░░░░░░ immunity is not just ░░░░░░░░ on antibodies it s ░░░░░░░░ on a larger number ░░░░░░░░ people who have something ░░░░░░░░ T cell immunity But ░░░░░░░░ do want to comment ░░░░░░░░ the hospitalizations because when ░░░░░░░░ look more than superficially ░░░░░░░░ the data which is ░░░░░░░░ and should be demanded ░░░░░░░░ our public health officials ░░░░░░░░ you look at Texas ░░░░░░░░ instance yes they have ░░░░░░░░ lot of people in ░░░░░░░░ hospital But when I ░░░░░░░░ at every single hospital ░░░░░░░░ in Texas today 15 ░░░░░░░░ of people in the ░░░░░░░░ as inpatients are Covid ░░░░░░░░ e patients That means ░░░░░░░░ 85 have nothing to ░░░░░░░░ with Covid 19 And ░░░░░░░░ same thing goes for ░░░░░░░░ of these other states ░░░░░░░░ are people hospitalized a ░░░░░░░░ number Because they are ░░░░░░░░ as Covid positive somehow ░░░░░░░░ categorizes Covid hospitalizations That ░░░░░░░░ a problem GALLAGHER It ░░░░░░░░ interesting you re exactly ░░░░░░░░ You see headlines in ░░░░░░░░ Angeles times in Riverside ░░░░░░░░ hospital 99 capacity and ░░░░░░░░ read into the article ░░░░░░░░ 30 are Covid patients ░░░░░░░░ s a bit misleading ░░░░░░░░ I want to put ░░░░░░░░ numbers on the screen ░░░░░░░░ the Gallup poll because ░░░░░░░░ says people are concerned ░░░░░░░░ if you look at ░░░░░░░░ you got 19 who ░░░░░░░░ very worried about the ░░░░░░░░ of social distancing totaling ░░░░░░░░ because 35 are moderately ░░░░░░░░ In the case numbers
