AOC: ‘Unacceptable’ We Are ‘Struggling to Cancel Rent’ in NY Where We Have Dem Governor, City Council

OCASIO CORTEZ Thank you ░░░░░░░░ you know from the ░░░░░░░░ for All Coalition in ░░░░░░░░ sure that we fight ░░░░░░░░ these priorities And I ░░░░░░░░ it s just really ░░░░░░░░ to communicate that these ░░░░░░░░ don t happen magically ░░░░░░░░ happen when we organize ░░░░░░░░ they happen right for ░░░░░░░░ And that doesn t ░░░░░░░░ and that doesn t ░░░░░░░░ fight along partisan lines ░░░░░░░░ have to as we ░░░░░░░░ here in New York ░░░░░░░░ have to fight with ░░░░░░░░ in order to make ░░░░░░░░ that these things get ░░░░░░░░ And I think sometimes ░░░░░░░░ s the that s ░░░░░░░░ big you know nationally ░░░░░░░░ s seen as a ░░░░░░░░ to call out Democrats ░░░░░░░░ we re here in ░░░░░░░░ state of New York ░░░░░░░░ have a Democratic governor ░░░░░░░░ have a Democratic state ░░░░░░░░ we have a Democratic ░░░░░░░░ council and we are ░░░░░░░░ struggling to cancel rent ░░░░░░░░ s unacceptable And so ░░░░░░░░ that we need to ░░░░░░░░ sure that we are ░░░░░░░░ the heat on because ░░░░░░░░ in politics is not ░░░░░░░░ to the Republican Party ░░░░░░░░ in politics also has ░░░░░░░░ corrosive and corrupting influence ░░░░░░░░ the Democratic Party politics ░░░░░░░░ well That s why ░░░░░░░░ got to call it ░░░░░░░░ that s why we ░░░░░░░░ to push for rent ░░░░░░░░ mortgage moratoriums Because as ░░░░░░░░ all know it s ░░░░░░░░ this parable where you ░░░░░░░░ where people act and ░░░░░░░░ lot of these conservatives ░░░░░░░░ act as though money ░░░░░░░░ down and we know ░░░░░░░░ that s a myth ░░░░░░░░ let s get one ░░░░░░░░ really straight Money doesn ░░░░░░░░ trickle down but despair ░░░░░░░░ Because over and over ░░░░░░░░ the richest and the ░░░░░░░░ people are shielded when ░░░░░░░░ huge crisis hits our ░░░░░░░░ and then it s ░░░░░░░░ people below them that ░░░░░░░░ it more and the ░░░░░░░░ below them that feel ░░░░░░░░ more as well And ░░░░░░░░ s no other place ░░░░░░░░ we can see that ░░░░░░░░ most right here in ░░░░░░░░ Because here we have ░░░░░░░░ bankers and we have ░░░░░░░░ hedge funds and we ░░░░░░░░ these huge real estate ░░░░░░░░ right They benefited from ░░░░░░░░ 4 trillion relief package.”
