GOLDBERG I will just ░░░░░░░░ a little perspective of ░░░░░░░░ You know folks fought ░░░░░░░░ World War I and ░░░░░░░░ War II came back ░░░░░░░░ America And people of ░░░░░░░░ talking specifically people of ░░░░░░░░ came back to America ░░░░░░░░ couldn t vote A ░░░░░░░░ of people didn t ░░░░░░░░ the vote in the ░░░░░░░░ States until 1968 OK ░░░░░░░░ now when you see ░░░░░░░░ of the things we ░░░░░░░░ seen over the last ░░░░░░░░ of young black men ░░░░░░░░ black women being sort ░░░░░░░░ man handled not just ░░░░░░░░ police but by lots ░░░░░░░░ different folks When you ░░░░░░░░ the kind of anger ░░░░░░░░ is at black people ░░░░░░░░ you know some of ░░░░░░░░ folks have gone fought ░░░░░░░░ Iraq and have had ░░░░░░░░ or six tours of ░░░░░░░░ UNKNOWN FEMALE Right GOLDBERG ░░░░░░░░ they come back and ░░░░░░░░ are disrespected I say ░░░░░░░░ have to pay attention ░░░░░░░░ somebody is saying I ░░░░░░░░ you to respect all ░░░░░░░░ us not just some ░░░░░░░░ us but all of ░░░░░░░░ And America allows us ░░░░░░░░ protest that way He ░░░░░░░░ not blocking traffic Cheers ░░░░░░░░ applause He is not ░░░░░░░░ anybody He s not ░░░░░░░░ He s down on ░░░░░░░░ knee HOSTIN It s ░░░░░░░░ silent protest What s ░░░░░░░░ to me and of ░░░░░░░░ he s advocating the ░░░░░░░░ of an employee for ░░░░░░░░ his or her constitutional ░░░░░░░░ GOLBERG Constitutional rights HOSTIN ░░░░░░░░ is illegal GOLDBERG Say ░░░░░░░░ again Say that again ░░░░░░░░ it s important Applause ░░░░░░░░ You cannot fire someone ░░░░░░░░ exercising their constitutional rights ░░░░░░░░ s illegal GOLDBERG Right ░░░░░░░░ So to hear him ░░░░░░░░ that that was appalling ░░░░░░░░ me But what I ░░░░░░░░ want to understand is ░░░░░░░░ anthem protest is not ░░░░░░░░ disrespect to the flag ░░░░░░░░ No HOSTN or disrespect ░░░░░░░░ the military or disrespect ░░░░░░░░ the country The anthem ░░░░░░░░ anthem says liberty and ░░░░░░░░ for all UNKNOWN FEMALE ░░░░░░░░ all HOSTIN What Colin ░░░░░░░░ was doing was take ░░░░░░░░ knee to highlight the ░░░░░░░░ between the promises of ░░░░░░░░ anthem and the lived ░░░░░░░░ of African Americans in ░░░░░░░░ community Cheering and Applause ░░░░░░░░ that s what it ░░░░░░░░ about Nothing more Nothing ░░░░░░░░ crosstalk] (Applause)
