Trump Ducks Question on Whether He Will Sue Cruz

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:

STEPHANOPOULOS: “Let’s move on to Ted Cruz. You said you want an apology from him, you want him to take his ads down. He’s not doing that. He’s doubling down. Are you going to court today to challenge his candidacy?”
TRUMP: “Let me tell you, I have dealt with many people over my lifetime. I’ve been very successful. I’ve dealt with people tougher than him. I have never dealt with anybody that lied like him. Even Rubio, Marco Rubio, which is hard for a politician to do. He called him a liar. I said, wow, that’s amazing, I have never heard that from a politician. Ted Cruz is a liar. He outright lies. My whole thing is ObamaCare, we’re going to repeal it and replace it. He says, I love ObamaCare. I’m going to keep it. On the Second Amendment, there’s nobody stronger on the second amendment than I am. He said, Donald Trump wants to get rid of the Second Amendment. He’ll say whatever he wants to say. I actually think he’s a very unstable person. I really believe that. I think he’s a very unstable person. I have never had somebody take something you believe in and say the exact opposite. By the way, on Sunday, or Saturday evening, right after the vote, he’ll apologize.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “Are you going to follow through on your pledge to file a suit against his candidacy? You said you’ll hire a lawyer —“
TRUMP: “It was — what he did to Ben Carson is a disgrace. He wrote a fraudulent voter paper, a voter violation paper. But he apologized immediately to Ben Carson after the votes were cast. Frankly, that should be taken away from him. That election from Iowa should be taken away from him. He was born in Canada. Some saying he doesn’t have the right to run for president because of the fact he was born in Canada, lived there for years. Under that theory, Winston Churchill. Take a look. He was born in Canada. When you talk about a natural-born citizen, according to many great lawyers, I’ve been looking at this strongly.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “I’ll ask you again, are you going to file suit?”
TRUMP: “I’m thinking about it very seriously, George. I don’t know yet. We’re thinking about it.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “Mr. Trump, thank you for joining us this morning.”
