REPORTER: "And while we're on the topic of football, the former 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, taking part in the annual Unthanksgiving day to support a Native American protest. He made what was a surprise visit to this event that commemorates the occupation of Alcatraz by Native American activists from 1969-1971. He tweeted, and this is a quote, 'Today, I was on Alcatraz Island at the Indigenous People’s Sunrise Gathering, in solidarity with those celebrating their culture and paying respects to those that participated in the 19 month occupation of Alcatraz  in an effort to force U.S. to honor the Treaty of Fort Laramie.' That's Colin Kaepernick what he was up to on his Thanksgiving. Of course, as we know by now, what he's known for is the kneeling protest that he helped to start instead of standing for the national anthem."
