RUSH TRANSCRIPT:

BLITZER: "The president said he removed those subsidies as part of the affordable care act because that money was strictly going as a bonanza to the big insurance companies who are making huge profits right now, and he wants to eliminate that. That’s why he got rid of the subsidies. You buy that?"
BLUMENTHAL: "That contention is disproved by the facts. The cuts in those subsidies were very simply and starkly an effort to sabotage the affordable care act."
BLITZER: "But the insurance companies do make a lot of profit."
BLUMENTHAL: "And those profits should be overseen and stopped if they are involved in higher costs because bringing down costs has to be part of what’s done. I have long advocated that there be stronger regulatory oversight in Connecticut has seen some of those price increases as well. If there are excess profit said, they ought to be part of the regulatory process."
