John Bolton: ‘We Have to Wake up to the Fact that Free Speech Is Under Assault in This Country’

‘This is fundamentally authoritarian’

EXCERPT:

BOLTON: "I mean, it is a kind of new speak philosophy from 1984. And it just -- it is so fundamentally contrary to what we believe as a country. You know, Justice Brandeis once wrote a great concurring opinion where he said many, many wise things, but he said most importantly, that the answer is always more speech, not enforced silence. And what these people are doing is trying to enforced silence. I -- I think people have got to speak up. I'd like to hear more people in Congress, Republican and Democrat say they don't accept this."
